I found McKenna through Instagram (thank God for that) and she did our maternity photos, birth photos, and was our doula. I'm a first time mom and birth has always been something that I was extremely nervous about. When I found out I was pregnant, I was looking for a doula who could advocate for me during labor/delivery, who would give me tools to prepare for labor/delivery, and someone who would help me have the unmedicated birth that I was hoping for. McKenna did all those things and more, and I truly had the birth experience of my DREAMS. I know for a fact that my birth would not have gone as amazing as it did if I hadn't had her there. She truly helped me so much physically and mentally get through the hardest parts of labor, and reminded me of how strong I was when I was on the verge of giving up and getting the epidural. She also helped me write my birth plan and because of her support, I was able to stick to that plan and have a low intervention birth. My biggest fear was having a traumatic first birth experience and instead I had an AMAZING one, and I know she played a huge role in making that happen for me. She's also such a talented photographer and I am OBSESSED with our maternity & birth photos! At first, I wasn't sure if I wanted birth photos...and I am beyond glad we decided to get them. Birth is such a special experience and she captured each beautiful moment of it, raw emotions and all. I'm definitely going to have her as my doula for my next pregnancies (if we're both still in Hawaii) and recommend her to my family & friends. She's the sweetest human, and I truly feel like I gained a friend and not just had her as our doula. She even got my son a gift after he was born and has checked in to see how I'm doing multiple times since I've given birth! I could go on and on about how great she is, but honestly I would just hire her and see for yourself.”
